About

Miners Gulch Campground was situated along Rock Creek in the Rock Creek Drainage at an elevation of 7,500 feet on the southern slope of the Uinta Mountains. The facility operated as a group campground that could accommodate up to 40 people across several individual sites. The shaded campground was set back off the main road for privacy, surrounded by dense stands of aspens with pines, sagebrush and wildflowers throughout the landscape. The campground provided access to excellent fishing opportunities in Rock Creek for brown, brook and rainbow trout. The Rock Creek Trail began just over a mile away and provided access to the High Uintas Wilderness for hiking, backpacking, horseback riding and backcountry fishing. Upper Stillwater Reservoir and Lower Stillwater Ponds were nearby, offering additional fishing and swimming opportunities. In 2023, the campground was affected by large debris that caused irreparable damage. The facility is no longer open to the public and remains permanently closed.
