About
Aspen Campground is nestled in the scenic North Fork Drainage just off Highway 35 in the Ashley National Forest, about 13 miles from Tabiona, Utah. The campground sits in a diverse forest of aspen, subalpine fir, lodgepole pine and spruce just above the North Fork Duchesne River at an elevation of 7,200 feet, affording beautiful views of the surrounding canyon. Summer wildflowers are plentiful throughout the area. The campground contains single and double-family sites, all equipped with picnic tables and campfire rings with grills. Some sites overlook the river. One group site for up to 32 people is available and is equipped with picnic tables, serving tables and a campfire circle with benches. Vault toilets and trash collection are provided, though drinking water is not currently available due to a sanitation system failure. Fishing for brook, brown and rainbow trout is a popular activity on the North Fork Duchesne. Hiking, mountain biking, OHV, and horseback riding trails are plentiful in the area. The North Fork Drainage provides access to the Granddaddy Lake region of the High Uintas via Grandview Trail, where numerous sparkling lakes provide great backcountry fishing opportunities. Backpacking, hiking and horseback riding are very popular in this breathtaking area.
