About
Willow Oak Campground offers rustic tent camping on the western shore of Toledo Bend Reservoir, one of the largest man-made lakes in the South. Located within Sabine National Forest, this small campground provides 10 walk-in tent sites arranged in a grassy area near the boat launch. Each site includes a tent platform, picnic table, cooking grill with fire ring, and lantern post. The campground is managed by the Sabine River Authority of Texas under a special use permit with the USFS. Facilities are minimal: portable toilets are available but there is no potable water on site, so campers must bring their own water supply. The adjacent boat ramp offers year-round access to the reservoir for fishing and motorized boating. This is strictly a tent camping area with walk-in sites only. The campground does not accommodate RVs or trailers. An accessible platform is available for visitors with mobility needs. Pets are permitted but must be leashed (6 feet or shorter) or otherwise physically restrained at all times.
Directions
From Hemphill, follow Highway 87 south for 14 miles to the campground entrance.
