About

Meridian State Park occupies 505 acres in Bosque County within the Cross Timbers and Prairies region of Texas. The park centers around the 72-acre Lake Meridian and showcases impressive stonework and structures built by the Civilian Conservation Corps during the 1930s, including a refectory building that now serves as a group facility. The park offers three distinct camping areas. Crosstimbers Campground contains eight full-hookup pull-through sites ideal for larger RVs, plus six water/electric sites suited for smaller rigs, pop-ups, and tents. Shinnery Ridge West provides eight primitive tent-only sites with fire rings and tables but no potable water. All developed sites include picnic tables and fire rings with grills. Restrooms with showers serve the hookup camping areas. Beyond camping, visitors can fish for largemouth bass, catfish, and sunfish from the accessible fishing pier or shoreline. Over five miles of trails wind through varied terrain featuring juniper woodlands, grasslands, and wildflower displays in spring. The park frequently reaches capacity on weekends and holidays, making advance reservations strongly recommended.
