About
Cedron Creek Campground is an Army Corps of Engineers facility located on Whitney Lake along the main channel of the Brazos River in Central Texas. The campground occupies a scenic lakeshore setting among rolling hills covered with cedar, live oak, and post oak trees. The park contains 57 campsites, all equipped with water hookups and either 30 or 50 amp electrical service. Each site has an upright BBQ cooker and a ground cooker/fire ring. The campground includes two restrooms with showers, one small restroom with toilet facilities, a trailer dump station, and a double lane boat ramp. Additional amenities include horseshoe pits and a playground. A group camping area with eight campsites is also available. Whitney Lake offers excellent opportunities for boating, fishing, swimming, canoeing, and kayaking. Anglers can target various species of bass, crappie, and catfish. The nearby 12.5 mile Hopewell Trail provides access for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. Park gates open at 6:00 a.m. and close at 10:00 p.m., with a night exit available for after-hours departures.
