Lofers Bend Day Use
This is a day use area only with no overnight camping. Gates open 6:00 AM and close at 10:00 PM daily. Day use fee is $5 per vehicle.
About
Lofers Bend Day Use Park is a US Army Corps of Engineers recreation area located on the upstream side of Whitney Dam on the Brazos River in Hill County, Texas. The park features an oak-savannah landscape with a variety of oak trees, native grasses, and wildflowers, with whitetail deer commonly seen throughout. The facility offers 29 picnic sites, a reservable group pavilion, a two-lane boat ramp, two swim beaches, dual sand volleyball courts, a playground, and a 1.5-mile fitness trail with restroom facilities. Popular activities include swimming, boating, fishing, and hiking. This is a day use only facility with no overnight camping permitted. Gates open at 6:00 AM and close at 10:00 PM daily. Pets are allowed on a six-foot leash but prohibited on swim beaches. ATVs and off-highway vehicles are not permitted.
Directions
From I-35 in Hillsboro, take Hwy 22 West for 12 miles to Whitney, continue 7 miles past Whitney, and turn right before the dam. Take the first left turn.
