About
Lofers Bend West Campground occupies a prime spot on the shores of Whitney Lake, a popular recreation destination on the Brazos River in Central Texas. The rolling terrain is shaded by cedar, live oak, and post oak trees, providing welcome relief from the Texas sun. Wildlife including deer, raccoons, and foxes frequent the area. The campground offers 51 standard electric sites with 30 or 50 amp service and water hookups, accommodating RVs and trailers up to 45 feet. For tent campers, 23 non-electric sites are available, many lakefront with water hookups. Three overnight shelter sites with ceiling fans and electricity provide a middle-ground option. A group site and day-use picnic shelter are also available. Whitney Lake draws over two million visitors annually for boating, fishing, swimming, kayaking, and canoeing. Anglers target bass, crappie, and catfish. The campground includes a boat ramp, courtesy dock, designated swimming area, and playground.
