About
Lofers Bend East Campground occupies a scenic stretch of Whitney Lake shoreline on the Brazos River, approximately 65 miles south of Fort Worth and 35 miles north of Waco. The campground features 66 family sites spread across rolling terrain covered with cedar, live oak, and post oak trees. Sixty sites offer water and 30-amp electric hookups, while six tent-only sites have water access only. Every site includes either a stand-up BBQ grill or ground cooker with fire ring. The campground is well-equipped for extended stays with flush restrooms, hot showers, a dump station, and drinking water throughout. Two boat ramps provide direct lake access for boating, fishing, and water sports. Whitney Lake supports excellent fishing for largemouth and white bass, crappie, and channel catfish. Swimming, canoeing, and kayaking are also popular. A playground is available for families. Gates are open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. A maximum of three vehicles per site is enforced. ATVs and OHVs are prohibited. Anglers must possess a valid Texas fishing license.
