About
Copan Point is a day-use recreation area located on the banks of Copan Lake in Oklahoma's Green Country, managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The area features one reservable group picnic shelter that can accommodate up to 45 people, making it suitable for family reunions, group outings, and other gatherings. Amenities include flush and pit toilets, drinking water, and multiple picnic sites equipped with utility tables, grills, and fire pits. The area provides excellent lake access with a boat ramp and courtesy dock for launching watercraft, plus a separate fishing dock for anglers. A swimming beach with a volleyball court rounds out the recreational offerings. The 4,850-acre lake sits on the Little Caney River and is home to largemouth bass, white crappie, channel and flathead catfish, and various sunfish species. Note that Copan Point is strictly a day-use facility with no overnight camping. Visitors seeking overnight accommodations at Copan Lake should consider Washington Cove (101 sites with electric hookups) or Post Oak Park (19 sites with electric hookups), both located on the same lake.
