Washington Cove Campground is a large, well-equipped facility located on the northwestern banks of Copan Lake in Oklahoma's Green Country region. Managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Tulsa District, this campground features 101 sites with 30-amp electric hookups, plus additional tent-only sites, providing ample camping options for both RVs and tent campers. The campground is situated in a wooded area that provides shade throughout the park, with easy access to the 4,850-acre lake formed by the Little Caney River. Copan Lake is renowned for its diverse fishing opportunities, with healthy populations of largemouth bass, white crappie, channel and flathead catfish, and various species of sunfish. A boat ramp at the campground provides direct water access for anglers and boaters. Beyond fishing, the area offers 3 miles of trails winding through woods and open meadows along the lakeshore, suitable for both hiking and horseback riding. The surrounding landscape of prairie grasslands and croplands creates a scenic backdrop for outdoor recreation. One of the unique features of Copan Lake is the 11,000 acres of land designated for wildlife management, which are open for public hunting. Game species include white-tailed deer, waterfowl, bobwhite quail, turkey, cottontail rabbit, and squirrel. The campground itself provides modern amenities including both flush and pit toilets, showers, drinking water, a dump station, and a playground. A day-use group picnic shelter is also available. Two campsites are ADA-accessible, making the campground welcoming to visitors with disabilities.

Directions

Take Highway 10 approximately one mile west of Highway 75, then follow 3970 Rd about two miles to the north. Follow signs into the campground.
