Washington Cove
Open for the 2026 season. The campground operates from early April through late October. Reservations available through Recreation.gov.
About
Washington Cove campground occupies a wooded shoreline on the 4,850-acre Copan Lake, a Corps of Engineers impoundment on the Little Caney River in northeast Oklahoma. The campground features 97 standard electric sites with 30-amp service and water hookups, 5 primitive tent sites, and a group shelter. Facilities include both flush and vault toilets, hot showers, potable water, and a dump station for RV waste. A boat ramp provides direct lake access. Copan Lake is known for quality fishing with healthy populations of largemouth bass, white crappie, channel catfish, and flathead catfish. Three miles of multi-use trails wind through the surrounding woods and meadows, open to both hikers and equestrians. The surrounding 11,000 acres of Corps-managed land is designated for wildlife management and open for public hunting of deer, turkey, waterfowl, quail, rabbit, and squirrel during established seasons. The campground operates seasonally from early April through late October. Reservations are available through Recreation.gov, though some sites may be available first-come, first-served. Sites accommodate trailers and RVs up to 60-75 feet depending on the specific site, with gravel back-in driveways.
