About

Massacre Rocks State Park sits on the banks of the Snake River where dramatic volcanic rock formations once funneled Oregon Trail emigrants through a narrow passage. The 42-site campground features electric hookups, flush toilets, hot showers, and a dump station. Four heated and air-conditioned cabins sleep up to five guests each with outdoor fire pits and grills. The park has one ADA-accessible campsite and one ADA cabin. Beyond camping, the park offers miles of hiking trails through sagebrush steppe habitat rich with bird species, access to historic Oregon Trail wagon ruts, and one of Idaho's most challenging disc golf courses. A visitor center and museum provide interpretive exhibits about the area's geology and pioneer history. Firewood is available for purchase on-site. The park operates year-round with the Upper Loop and cabins available during winter months. Day-use hours are 7 AM to 10 PM. Pets are welcome on a 6-foot leash throughout the park.
