About
Martin's Dairy Horse Camp is a specialized equestrian campground tucked away in the Goosenest Ranger District of Klamath National Forest in Siskiyou County, California. Situated approximately a quarter mile north of the main Martin's Dairy Campground, this small facility caters specifically to horse campers with 4 campsites and 4 adjoining corrals capable of holding one horse each. A shared water tank sits in the center of the corral area for watering stock. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis at $10 per night with cash or check payment required. Vault toilets are available, though potable water is not provided at this facility. Strict rules protect the surrounding environment: horses cannot be tied to trees or corral rails, must be kept away from the creek, watered only in corrals, and fed weed-free feed. Horses are prohibited from grazing in the meadow. Trailer turnaround and parking space is limited, making this site unsuitable for large rigs. The campground is accessed via Forest Service Roads 70 and 46N12, about 28 miles northwest of Weed, CA off US Highway 97. The 14-day camping limit applies.
Directions
From I-5 in Weed, CA, travel northwest on US Hwy 97 approximately 28 miles to Forest Service Road 70 (1 mile south of Mount Hebron summit). Turn west and drive approximately 11 miles to Forest Service Road 46N12. Turn left on 46N12 and continue 1.7 miles to the Horse campground.
