About

Juanita Lake Campground offers 23 partially shaded campsites along the shores of Juanita Lake in the Klamath National Forest. Situated at 5,130 feet in a ponderosa pine forest, the campground provides access to a 55-acre lake regularly stocked with trout and home to bass and catfish. The lake prohibits motorized boats but welcomes rowboats, canoes, and rafts via a paved boat launch. A seasonal dock and fish cleaning station serve anglers. The area features a 1.5-mile paved barrier-free trail encircling the lake with two fishing jetties for easy shoreline access. More ambitious hikers can tackle the 6-mile climb to Ball Mountain Lookout with 2,700 feet of elevation gain. The Butte Valley Wildlife Area lies within four miles. Bald eagles and osprey regularly fish the lake, making this a prime bird-watching destination. All sites are standard nonelectric back-in sites. A 50-person group camp is also available. Bear-proof food storage is required. Firewood collection of dead and downed material is permitted without chainsaws.
