About
Maplewood State Park Group Camp offers a secluded gathering place for up to 30 people within one of west-central Minnesota's most scenic state parks. Situated in the rolling Leaf Mountains, the group camp is accessed by a long driveway leading back to a remote site surrounded by hardwood forests. The 9,250-acre park encompasses eight major lakes and numerous ponds, providing excellent opportunities for fishing, swimming, and boating. An extensive trail system of over 25 miles winds through diverse terrain where prairie meets forest, creating habitat for wildlife from both ecosystems. The park is particularly renowned for its autumn display when maple forests turn brilliant shades of orange, gold, and red. While the park welcomes visitors year-round, most activity occurs between April and October. Winter camping is available, though all running water is shut off in mid-October. The group camp provides a base for exploring Lake Lida's sandy beach, the park's scenic drive, and numerous recreational opportunities throughout the seasons.
