Lake Lida Campground is one of several camping areas within Maplewood State Park, located on the eastern shore of South Lida Lake in Otter Tail County. The campground offers a peaceful lakeside setting with campsites nestled among sugar maple, basswood, and oak trees that create spectacular fall colors. Unlike the park's Grass Lake Campground, Lake Lida Campground does not have electric hookups, making it ideal for tent campers and those seeking a more rustic experience. The park encompasses rolling hills formed by glacial moraine, with eight major lakes and numerous ponds providing excellent opportunities for swimming, fishing, and boating. A sandy swimming beach on South Lida Lake is easily accessible from the campground, and a concrete boat launch allows access to the lake for fishing walleye, northern pike, and panfish. The extensive trail system includes nearly 30 miles of hiking trails, with Hallaway Hill offering panoramic views of South Lida Lake and the surrounding landscape. Maplewood State Park's location in a transition zone between western prairies and eastern forests creates diverse habitat supporting 150 bird species and 50 mammal species. The campground provides a base for exploring this natural diversity, from spring wildflowers including trillium and yellow lady's slipper to autumn foliage displays.

Located 7 miles east of Pelican Rapids on State Highway 108. Enter Maplewood State Park and follow signs to Lake Lida Campground on South Lida Lake.
