About

Lake Lida Campground offers a peaceful lakeside camping experience within Maplewood State Park in Otter Tail County. The 12 rustic, non-electric campsites sit on the eastern shore of South Lida Lake, surrounded by the rolling, forested hills that characterize this transition zone between western prairies and eastern hardwood forests. Sugar maple, basswood, and oak trees provide shade and create stunning fall foliage. The campground provides direct access to a sandy swimming beach on South Lida Lake, and a concrete boat launch allows anglers to pursue walleye, northern pike, and panfish. Each campsite features a picnic table and fire ring with grill. Water and shower facilities are available seasonally from May through October. The park's extensive trail system includes nearly 30 miles of hiking trails, with Hallaway Hill offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Maplewood State Park is home to over 150 bird species, 50 mammal species, and 25 reptile and amphibian species, making it excellent for wildlife observation. The park also features historic Maplewood Church and multiple lakes with fishing piers and boat ramps.
