Grass Lake Campground serves as the primary camping area within Maplewood State Park, situated on the eastern edge of Grass Lake in Otter Tail County. The campground features 71 drive-in sites spread across three distinct loops. The Main Loop offers 32 sites with 50-amp electrical hookups, while the Knoll and Hollow loops provide non-electric camping. Two ADA-accessible campsites and an accessible shower building accommodate campers with mobility needs. Maplewood State Park encompasses 9,250 acres of rolling hills and hardwood forests dotted with eight major lakes and numerous smaller ponds. Grass Lake itself is popular among panfish anglers. Twenty-seven miles of hiking trails wind through the park, with several connecting directly to the campground. The park's namesake maples produce spectacular fall foliage, making autumn a particularly scenic time to visit. All campsites include a fire ring with cooking grill and a picnic table. The campground provides flush toilets, drinking water, hot-water showers (fee-based), trash collection, and an RV dump station. Sites can accommodate RVs and trailers up to 50 feet in length. The campground operates year-round, though water and shower facilities are only available from May through October.

Directions

From Pelican Rapids, drive east on MN Highway 108 for approximately 8 miles. Turn left onto Park Entrance Road and follow signs to the campground.
