About

Maplewood State Park's camper cabins provide a comfortable alternative to tent camping in one of Minnesota's most scenic transition-zone landscapes. The park, established in 1963, spans hilly, lake-dotted terrain where prairie meets forest, home to over 150 bird species and 50 mammal species. The five camper cabins are rustic one-room wooden structures measuring 12x16 feet. Each cabin includes wooden bunkbeds with mattresses (guests bring their own bedding), a table, benches, and most feature screened porches, heat, and electricity. Standard cabins accommodate up to 6 people, while accessible cabins hold 5. Outside, each cabin has a picnic table and fire ring with grill for outdoor cooking. No indoor plumbing is available in the cabins themselves. Seasonal restrooms with flush toilets, showers, and drinking water are located in the adjacent campground areas. Primitive toilets remain accessible year-round. Indoor cooking is prohibited except for crockpots and coffeepots. The park offers over 20 miles of hiking and horseback riding trails, fishing piers on Beers Lake and South Lida Lake, and wildlife viewing opportunities throughout.
