Coastal Flood Advisory issued August 9 at 9:43PM PDT until August 13 at 2:00AM PDT by NWS San Francisco CA
* WHAT...Up to 1.6 ft of inundation above ground level is possible in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways. * WHERE...Bayshore locations along the San Francisco Bay, San Pablo Bay, and Monterey Bay. * WHEN...Until 2 AM PDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of lots, parks, and roads with only isolated road closures expected. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...At the San Francisco tidal gauge, high tide is expected to be 1.6 ft above normal (7.46 ft MLLW) at 10:01 PM Monday 8/10, 1.6 ft above normal (7.44 ft MLLW) at 10:57 PM Tuesday 8/11, and 1.4 ft above normal (7.24 ft MLLW) at 11:49 PM Wednesday 8/12. These predictions include both astronomical tides and roughly 3-6 inches of additional water mainly from a combination of thermal expansion and accumulated sea level rise since the tidal datum was established (1983-2001). High tide varies up to 90 minutes earlier or later along the Pacific Coast and through the San Francisco Bay, respectively.
About
Manresa State Beach Campground, also known as Manresa Uplands, sits on scenic ocean bluffs above the Pacific in Santa Cruz County. The campground features over 60 walk-in tent sites spread across three loops in a native coastal scrub meadow environment. Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring, and food storage cabinet, with parking located in a separate lot near the campground entrance. The campground offers restrooms, outdoor showers, and potable drinking water. A trail from the campground provides direct access to the sandy beach below, though dogs are not allowed on the beach itself. Pets are permitted in the campground on a six-foot leash and may not be left unattended. This is strictly a tent-only facility with no RV or trailer camping. The walk-in design and blufftop setting make it ideal for tent campers seeking a coastal experience away from larger RV-focused campgrounds. The location between Santa Cruz and Monterey provides convenient access to both areas.
Directions
From Highway 1 south of Aptos, take San Andreas Road southwest. Follow signs to the campground at 205 Manresa Uplands Road, Watsonville.
