About

Mallard Creek Campground is a rustic, no-fee campground located in the Highway 14 Corridor of the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests near Elk City, Idaho. The campground features 4 primitive campsites set among tall timber alongside Mallard Creek, offering a quiet backcountry camping experience. Facilities are minimal: a vault toilet is provided, but there are no picnic tables or fire grates at individual campsites. Only one fire grate is available for the entire campground. Potable water is not available on site; campers must bring their own water or filter/treat water from nearby sources. This is a pack-it-in, pack-it-out campground with no garbage services. The area offers opportunities for fishing in the creek, day hiking, horseback riding, and OHV use on designated roads. Access requires travel on forest roads that may be rough and are typically impassable during winter snow conditions.
