About

Dixie Meadow Campground is a primitive dispersed camping area situated at 5,500 feet elevation in the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests of central Idaho. Located approximately 5 miles past the town of Dixie along Red River-Dixie Road #222, this free campsite provides a basic vault toilet as its only developed amenity. The campground operates on a pack-it-in, pack-it-out basis with no garbage services or potable water available. Campers should come fully prepared with their own water supply and plan to haul out all trash. The site is open year-round, though access can be limited or impossible during winter months due to snow accumulation on the forest roads.

Directions
