About

Main Day Use Area is the primary day-use facility at Eau Galle Lake, a 150-acre impoundment on the Eau Galle River in western Wisconsin. Managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers St. Paul District, the area provides water-based recreation including swimming at a large sandy beach, fishing from an accessible pier, and boating on the no-wake lake (non-gasoline powered vessels only). The facility includes flush toilets, playgrounds, horseshoe pits, volleyball courts, a boat ramp, and picnic areas with tables. Two reservable group shelters with electric service are available for day gatherings. A visitor center is located on site. Overnight camping is explicitly prohibited at the Main Day Use Area. Visitors seeking camping accommodations should use Highland Ridge Campground, approximately 4 miles south of I-94, which offers 46 sites including electric hookups.
