Frontenac State Park Campground is perched on scenic bluffs overlooking Lake Pepin and the Mississippi River in Goodhue County, Minnesota. The campground features 58 drive-in campsites, with 19 offering electric hookups and the remainder being primitive non-hookup sites. Additionally, 6 rustic cart-in sites located approximately a quarter mile from parking provide a more secluded camping experience. The campground can accommodate large RVs up to 53 feet in length at spacious sites. Frontenac State Park is renowned as one of the premier birdwatching destinations in the United States, with more than 260 species of birds recorded. The park's location along the Mississippi Flyway makes it exceptional for viewing migrating birds, including bald eagles, during spring and fall migrations. The diverse habitats including bluffland, prairie, and floodplain forests support this remarkable biodiversity. Beyond birdwatching, visitors can explore 14.2 miles of hiking trails that wind through wooded slopes and offer stunning overlooks of Lake Pepin. The campground operates year-round with varying amenities by season. During the main camping season, facilities include hot showers, flush toilets, potable water, and a dump station. Each campsite is equipped with a picnic table and fire ring. In the off-season, vault toilets are available along with a single restroom in the ranger station. The campground maintains hookup availability during winter months for those seeking cold-weather camping experiences.

Frontenac State Park is located at 29223 County 28 Boulevard, Frontenac, MN 55026. From Red Wing, Minnesota, drive southeast on U.S. Highway 61 for approximately 10 miles. Turn left onto County Road 2 and continue for about 1 mile to reach the park entrance.
