Riley Creek Recreation Area sits on the banks of the Pend Oreille River within the Albeni Falls Dam project, managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. As the largest of the Albeni Falls recreation areas, this 67-site campground offers a full-service camping experience while maintaining a peaceful, spacious atmosphere surrounded by scenic mountain ranges. All campsites feature electric hookups (20, 30, and 50 amp service) and water connections, making the campground particularly suitable for RVs and larger camping rigs. The campground caters to water enthusiasts with boat ramps providing direct access to Lake Pend Oreille, one of the largest and deepest natural lakes in the western United States, plunging to depths exceeding 1,200 feet. Visitors enjoy boating, water skiing, jet skiing, kayaking, canoeing, swimming, and fishing throughout the recreation area. Beyond water sports, Riley Creek offers diverse recreational amenities including fishing piers, hiking and biking trails, horseshoe pits, a beach volleyball court, and a basketball court. Two large picnic shelters are available for group reservations. The campground's location along the Pend Oreille River, which stretches 65 miles through a glacial-carved valley separating three mountain ranges, provides excellent wildlife viewing opportunities. Campers commonly spot bald eagles, osprey, white-tailed deer, and occasionally black bears. The nearby Albeni Falls Visitor Center offers dam tours and exhibits during summer months, and the town of Laclede provides convenient access to gas and groceries just one mile away.

From Highway 2 in Laclede, Idaho, turn south onto Riley Creek Road, then continue about 1 mile to the campground entrance.
