Mount Philo State Park Campground

Open

Open for the 2026 season from May 22 through October 11. Summit facilities are undergoing accessibility and sustainability improvements through August 2026; the summit shelter is not accepting new reservations during construction.

About

Mount Philo State Park Campground offers a small, intimate camping experience at the base of Vermont's oldest state park in Charlotte, Vermont. The campground features 7 tent sites and 3 wooden lean-tos nestled in a wooded setting, each equipped with a fire ring and picnic table. From the campground, a short 10-minute hike leads to the 968-foot summit where panoramic views of the Lake Champlain Valley and New York's Adirondack Mountains await. Facilities include restrooms with flush toilets, hot and cold running water, and coin-operated showers. Water spigots are available both in the campground and at the mountain summit. A rustic lodge that seats up to 60 people with electricity is available for group gatherings. The park welcomes leashed pets throughout. Due to the steep grade and narrow width of the access road, recreational vehicles and trailers are not recommended for this campground. Most sites accommodate up to 8 people, though sites T02 and T04 are limited to 4 people. The campground operates seasonally from Memorial Day weekend through mid-October.
