About
Luzerne Campground is situated on Fourth Lake in Warren County, offering a tranquil camping experience in the southern Adirondacks. The lake spans 51 acres with a maximum depth of 41 feet, and motorized boats are prohibited, creating an exceptionally quiet atmosphere for paddlers and anglers. The campground features 173 tent and trailer campsites spread around the lakeshore, with most sites accommodating equipment up to 20-30 feet in length. The facility stands out for its dedicated equestrian camping area with 22 horse paddocks, 2 covered standing stalls, and separate corrals with water. Horseback riders have access to on-site trails and can explore the surrounding Adirondack terrain. Horses require a current negative Coggins certificate, and out-of-state horses need an additional 30-day health certificate. Amenities include hot showers in two wheelchair-accessible buildings, flush toilets, a trailer dump station, and a recycling center. The day use area offers a picnic pavilion available for rental, swimming beach, and volleyball court. Rowboats, canoes, and kayaks are available to rent. Within 10 miles, campers can find whitewater rafting and tubing on the Hudson River, golfing, and mountain climbing opportunities.
