1:42 AM — 5:15 PM

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...The Greater Capital Region, the Lake George Saratoga region and Rensselaer Plateau of eastern New York. * WHEN...Through this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Periods of moderate to heavy rain and a few thunderstorms continue overnight into Wednesday afternoon. Rainfall rates may reach as high as 1 to 2 inches per hour within the heaviest and most persistent downpours. Despite recent dry conditions, such high rainfall rates in a short period of time can result in flash flooding, especially in urban and poor drainage areas and where heavy rain repeatedly impacts a given area. An additional 1 to 2 inches of rain is expected for most areas in the flood watch, with locally higher amounts possible. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

About

Long Island campground is part of the Lake George Islands Campgrounds system, offering a unique boat-in camping experience in the heart of the Adirondack Park. The 90 sites on Long Island are spread across multiple islands in the lake, providing well-forested and private locations directly on the shoreline. Each site comes equipped with a dock accommodating one boat, a fireplace, picnic table, and toilet facility. Access is exclusively by boat, requiring campers to park at a private marina and launch to their reserved site. Registration can be completed at the ranger station on the island (located in a cove before site #1) or at the DEC office at Norowal Marina on Sagamore Road in Bolton Landing. Activities include fishing, hiking, bird watching, boating, and sailing. Camping is limited to 6 people per site with a maximum of 2 tents. A 14-night cumulative stay limit applies during peak season (July 1 through Labor Day). Fires must be built only in the provided fireplaces using dead and down wood. Generator use is restricted to 5 hours daily. Quiet hours are strictly enforced from 10 PM to 7 AM.
