About
Moreau Lake State Park encompasses 6,250 acres of diverse terrain in Saratoga County, featuring hardwood forests, pine stands, and rocky ridges surrounding a scenic lake. The campground is known for its quiet, wooded sites spread across seven loops (A-G) plus dedicated group camping areas, making it one of New York's most popular camping destinations. The park offers extensive recreational opportunities year-round. During camping season, visitors enjoy a sandy swimming beach with boat rentals (kayaks, rowboats, paddleboards), a nature center with educational programs, and over 40 miles of hiking trails. The park transitions to winter recreation with cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, ice fishing, and ice skating. Different camping loops operate on varying schedules, with Loop A and the White Birch Cabin Loop offering the longest season (May through November). The campground provides modern amenities including comfort stations, showers in all loops, and a dump station. The park also includes Big Bend Preserve, an 860-acre area along the Hudson River with 6 miles of gentle trails through barrens, open forest, and wetlands, home to over 100 documented bird species. Seven ADA-accessible campsites are available for visitors with disabilities. The park's proximity to Saratoga Springs and Lake George makes it an ideal base for exploring the Adirondack region.
