About
Clark Creek Organization Camp is a unique group camping facility constructed during the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps in coordination with the U.S. Forest Service. Located in the Willamette National Forest about 15 miles northeast of Lowell, Oregon, the campground sits along Clark Creek where it connects with Big Fall Creek in the western Cascades. The camp features five historic sleeping shelters, each containing eight platform sleeping bunks, accommodating up to 80 overnight guests. A large open field provides space for tent camping and group activities including baseball, volleyball, and horseshoe pits. An amphitheater, cooking/dining shelter, and the Ta-Wa-Si Chapel round out the historic facilities. Day-use capacity extends to 125 guests. Several footpaths meander through the recreation area, connecting the sleeping shelters to Big Fall Creek and linking to the nearby Clark Creek Nature Trail. The surrounding Fall Creek Trail Area offers additional hiking and biking opportunities, with swimming areas accessible along the creek.
