About

Longshoal Park is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers campground on Harry S. Truman Lake in Benton County, Missouri. The campground features 94 campsites ranging from primitive tent sites to full-hookup RV sites with 50-amp electric and water connections. Mature hardwoods of oak and hickory with cedar trees cover the rolling Ozark terrain. The park includes a sandy swimming beach, playground, picnic shelter, and boat ramp. Longshoal Marina operates within the park, offering boat services for guests. Truman Lake is a popular destination for tournament fishermen, with abundant crappie, bass, walleye, paddlefish, and channel catfish. Approximately 8,800 acres of standing timber were left in the lake to provide quality aquatic habitat. Wildlife such as whitetail deer, turkey, hawks, ospreys, and bald eagles frequent the area. The Harry S. Truman Visitor Center sits atop Kaysinger Bluff nearby, offering exhibits about the Osage River Valley and views of the dam and reservoir.
