About

Longshoal Park is an established Army Corps of Engineers campground on the shores of Harry S. Truman Lake in the rolling hills of western Missouri's Ozark Plateau. The campground offers 82 sites with electric hookups including 44 sites with 50-amp electric and water hookups and 38 sites with 30-amp electric hookups, plus 12 primitive non-electric sites and one reservable day-use group shelter. The campground provides modern amenities including flush toilets, showers, and drinking water. The park is a prime fishing destination on Truman Lake, known for tournament-quality bass fishing as well as crappie, walleye, paddlefish, blue and channel catfish. Approximately 8,800 acres of standing timber in the lake provide exceptional aquatic habitat. Longshoal Marina is located within the park offering convenient boat services, and the park features a boat ramp, sandy swimming beach, picnic shelter, and playground making it ideal for families. The area is covered with mature oak and hickory hardwoods mixed with cedar trees. Wildlife viewing opportunities include whitetail deer, turkey, hawks, ospreys, bald eagles, and various water birds. Reservations are made through Recreation.gov and require credit or debit card payment only. All campers must check in at the park booth to pick up vehicle hang tags. Weekend stays require a 2-night minimum, and holiday weekends require a 3-night minimum. After 14 consecutive days on one site, campers must vacate the campground for a minimum of 24 hours.
