About

Harry S Truman State Park Shelters refers to the Loyd Parker Memorial Shelter, a day-use picnic facility located within Harry S Truman State Park on the shores of Truman Lake in Benton County, Missouri. This is not an overnight camping area but rather a covered pavilion designed for group gatherings, family reunions, and picnics. The open shelter can accommodate approximately 130 guests and features picnic tables, two large outdoor grills, and electrical service. Restroom facilities are located nearby and are accessible to people with disabilities. The shelter itself is also ADA accessible. Reservations can be made 30 days to 12 months in advance through the Missouri State Parks online reservation system or by contacting the park office. The daily reservation rate is $40. When not reserved, the shelter is available on a first-come, first-served basis at no charge.
