About

Bledsoe Ferry Park sits in the rolling hills below Harry S. Truman Dam on the Osage Plateau in western Missouri. This year-round day-use area features four large group picnic shelters available for reservation, making it ideal for gatherings and events. The park includes an accessible boat ramp, fishing docks, drinking water, and both flush and pit toilet facilities. The park is an excellent fishing destination on Harry S. Truman Reservoir, known for crappie, largemouth bass, blue catfish, and flathead catfish. Approximately 8,800 acres of standing timber were left in the lake to provide quality aquatic habitat. The location is popular with tournament fishermen and offers one of the best vantage points to view Harry S. Truman Dam and the Class A Visitor Center. The surrounding landscape features mature oak and hickory hardwoods with cedar trees among the rocky bluffs and hills. Wildlife viewing opportunities include whitetail deer, turkey, hawks, ospreys, bald eagles, and various waterfowl. Day-use fees are required for boat launch. A restricted non-fishing zone is located directly below the dam.

Directions

From Highway 7, travel north on the Dam Access Road for 2 miles and follow signs to the day-use area.
