Devil's Backbone Campground is located at Harry S Truman State Park on a peninsula along Truman Lake in Benton County, Missouri. The campground offers 20 electric campsites with 50-amp service, set among oak woodlands with views of the lake's clear waters and dramatic bluffs. Each site features a picnic table, fire ring, and lantern hook on pads measuring 47 to 57 feet in length. The campground operates year-round, though full amenities including the shower house with hot water, flush toilets, laundry facilities, and dump station are available only from April 1 through October 31. During the off-season from December through February, campers must follow carry-in, carry-out rules and bring their own water. Harry S Truman State Park is one of nine Missouri state parks offering value camping with lower rates that vary by day and season. The park provides diverse recreation including fishing for crappie, bass, spoonbill, and catfish, a full-service marina, swimming beach, hiking trails, and interpretive programs. Reservations can be made up to 12 months in advance through the Missouri State Parks reservation system.
