Devil's Backbone Campground is located within Harry S Truman State Park on the shores of Truman Lake in west-central Missouri. This year-round campground features 20 electric campsites with pad lengths ranging from 47 to 57 feet, making it suitable for larger RVs. The campground includes a family site with an additional 56 x 12 foot pad and extra electrical hookup. All sites are equipped with picnic tables, lantern hooks, and fire rings. The park is situated on a peninsula jutting into Truman Lake, providing easy access to fishing for crappie, bass, walleye, and catfish. The area features rugged Ozark hills and scenic bluffs. Wildlife viewing opportunities abound, with whitetail deer, turkey, hawks, ospreys, eagles, and various water birds commonly spotted. The Truman State Park Marina is nearby for ice and supplies. During the off-season (December through February), water systems are turned off and campers must follow carry-in, carry-out rules for trash. The campground features a dump station, laundry facilities, and water spigots located near campsites 13 and 18. Reservations can be made up to 12 months in advance through the Missouri State Parks reservation system or by calling toll-free.

Devil's Backbone Campground is accessible via multiple trailheads: Raccoon Hollow Trailhead is located on the south side of CC Highway, about 1.5 miles east of Dora, MO; McGarr Ridge Trailhead is on the south side of CC Highway, approximately 4 miles east of Dora; Collins Ridge Trailhead is on County Road KK 362, off KK Highway, about 16 miles west of West Plains, MO.
