About

Long Branch State Park Campground offers varied camping options on the shores of 2,430-acre Long Branch Lake in northeastern Missouri. The main campground area provides both basic and 50-amp electric campsites in a wooded setting, with family campsites available for those wanting extra space. Eight to nine walk-in tent sites are positioned near the lake for a more secluded experience, and five boat-in campsites with fire rings can be accessed directly from the water. Facilities include modern restrooms with hot showers operational from April 1 through October 31, vault toilets, a dump station, and a firewood vending machine near the campground entrance. Each site includes a fire ring and picnic table. The campground also features a special-use camping area for groups, with priority given to nonprofit organizations and youth groups. The surrounding park preserves savanna and prairie remnants in the Chariton River Hills Natural Area, where hiking trails pass through native wildflower displays. Long Branch Lake has a reputation for quality bass fishing, along with catfish, walleye, and crappie. A sand beach with volleyball, three boat ramps, and a marina with slips round out the water recreation options.
