Airport Park

Open — Open year-round. Reservations available through Recreation.gov.

About

Airport Park sits on the northern banks of Waco Lake near the dam, offering campers views of the pristine lake waters to the south and the Waco Airport to the north. Operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, this year-round campground provides a variety of camping options including 46 sites with 50-amp electric and water hookups (22 with sewer), 8 screen shelters with electrical outlets and water, and 14 tent-only sites. A group camping shelter accommodates about 80 guests and includes six campsites with full hookups and two with electric and water. The campground offers excellent fishing opportunities, as the main lake shoreline has substantial submerged timber that holds catfish, crappie, large and smallmouth bass, and sunfish year-round. A two-lane boat ramp provides lake access for both campers and day-use visitors. The facility is well-positioned for exploring Waco, located just 10 miles from Magnolia Market and near Cameron Park Zoo and Waco Lake Wetlands.
