About

Lodgepole Campground is a large facility in the Pintler Ranger District of the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest, Montana's largest national forest. Located directly across Montana Highway 1 from Georgetown Lake, the campground provides convenient access to over 3,000 acres of mountain waters at 6,000 feet elevation. The surrounding Flint Creek Range to the north and Pintler Mountains to the south create a scenic backdrop. The campground features 31 sites suitable for tent and RV camping, with trailer lengths recommended not to exceed 32 feet. Amenities include ADA-accessible vault toilets, potable water from faucets, picnic tables, fire rings, and garbage service. Bear-resistant storage lockers are provided due to prevalent bear activity in the area. There is no dump station on-site; the nearest is in Anaconda. Georgetown Lake is a prime destination for fishing kokanee salmon, rainbow trout, and brook trout. Campers at Lodgepole receive free access to the Red Bridge Boat Launch across the highway. The area also offers hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding trails. A Montana fishing license is required, and bull trout must be released immediately if caught.
