Onegume Campground occupies a scenic setting on Little Cut Foot Sioux Lake, 18 miles northwest of Deer River along Minnesota Highway 46, the Avenue of the Pines Scenic Byway. Established in 1967, the campground features 48 sites spread across three loops, with 11 sites directly on the lakefront. A mature forest of birch and red pine provides shade and privacy between sites. The campground serves as a base for accessing some of Minnesota's premier fishing waters. Little Cut Foot Sioux Lake connects to Cut Foot Sioux Lake and Lake Winnibigoshish, known for walleye, perch, and trophy muskie. An accessible fishing dock, fish cleaning building, and wooden pier with boat slips support anglers. The Cut Foot Sioux Visitor Information Center is accessible via a half-mile trail north of the campground. Nearby trails including the Simpson Creek Trail and Cut Foot Sioux National Recreation Trail offer hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. The lakes attract loons, osprey, and bald eagles. A Chippewa National Forest Food Storage Order is in effect due to black bear activity.

Directions

Located 18 miles northwest of Deer River on MN State Highway 46 (Avenue of the Pines Scenic Byway). The campground is on the east side of Highway 46 before the bridge, between the highway and Little Cut Foot Sioux Lake.
