About

The Locust Grove Group Sites occupy the historic site of Old Kettle Falls on the northern section of Lake Roosevelt, approximately 0.25 miles from the main Kettle Falls Campground. The two spacious group sites can accommodate 50 people (Site B with 25 vehicles) and 75 people (Site A with 35 vehicles) respectively. Set within a grove of locust trees, the sites offer a more secluded alternative to the main campground while maintaining convenient access to amenities. The location provides direct access to Lake Roosevelt's 130-mile reservoir, created by Grand Coulee Dam. A multi-lane boat launch at the adjacent main campground makes water activities easily accessible. The original Kettle Falls, now submerged under 80 feet of water, was historically significant to American Indians and the fur trade. A nature trail connects the group sites to the Kettle Falls Campground and day-use area. The sites include vault toilets, fire rings, picnic tables, and seasonal potable water from May through September. The area supports diverse wildlife including moose, elk, deer, and bald eagles, while the lake offers fishing for walleye, bass, rainbow trout, salmon, and sturgeon during limited seasons.
