About

Trout Lake Campground is a small, free primitive campground in the Three Rivers Ranger District of Colville National Forest. The 5 campsites are tucked away from the main road, offering privacy near the lakeshore. Each site includes a picnic table, fire pit, and tent pad. A vault toilet serves the campground, but campers must bring their own drinking water and pack out all trash. The narrow 8-acre lake is stocked annually with rainbow trout and allows fly, spin, and bait fishing methods with two-pole fishing permitted. An 8x24-foot fishing dock with a ramp and rope ladder provides lake access. A small gravel boat launch accommodates canoes and boats with electric motors; internal combustion engines are prohibited. The campground also serves as the trailhead for Hoodoo Canyon Trail #17, a 4.7-mile hiking trail that intersects with Emerald Lake Trail #94. Wildlife including moose and whitetail deer are frequently spotted in the area. The campground sees light use and is popular with fishermen, hikers, and hunters.
