About

Littcarr Campground is located on the eastern shore of Carr Creek Lake in southeastern Kentucky's scenic Appalachian region. Operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, this established campground offers 45 sites equipped with electric and water hookups. The facility provides modern amenities including flush toilets, hot showers, drinking water, laundry facilities, and a dump station. The campground is situated in a heavily forested landscape of hardwood and pine trees on sloping terrain overlooking the 750-acre lake. Recreation opportunities include boating, water skiing, swimming, and fishing for crappie, bass, bluegill, and walleye. On-site amenities include two playgrounds, a picnic shelter, horseshoe pits, basketball and shuffleboard courts, and a boat ramp. Hikers can explore a short nature trail near the dam or tackle the six-mile Sugar Branch Trail. The area is home to diverse songbirds and waterfowl that inhabit the lake's marshlands. Nearby attractions include Daniel Boone National Forest, Lilley Cornett Woods, Bad Branch Falls Nature Preserve, Red River Gorge Natural Scenic Area, Natural Bridge State Park, and Buckhorn Lake. The campground is located approximately 16 miles from Hazard and 18 miles from Whitesburg.

Directions

From I-75, take Exit 38 (SR-192) east to Daniel Boone Parkway to SR-15. Travel SR-15 south to SR-160, turn north and follow for 4 miles. Campground is on the east side of SR-160.
