Littcarr Campground

Littcarr Campground occupies a prime location on the shores of Carr Creek Lake in the mountainous region of southeastern Kentucky. Managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, this established campground provides a comfortable base for exploring the surrounding Appalachian landscape. The lake itself is nestled in a scenic sloping terrain heavily forested with hardwood and pine trees, with marshlands that attract songbirds and waterfowl. The campground offers 45 sites, all equipped with electric hookups (20/30/50 amp options depending on site) and water connections. Sites accommodate tents, trailers, and RVs, with some sites accepting rigs up to 45 feet. Modern amenities include flush restrooms, hot showers, drinking water, laundry facilities, and a dump station. Family recreation options abound with two playgrounds, a picnic shelter, horseshoe pits, and basketball and shuffleboard courts. Carr Creek Lake offers excellent fishing opportunities for crappie, bass, bluegill, and walleye. Boating, water skiing, and swimming are popular activities. Hikers can explore a short nature trail near the dam or tackle the six-mile Sugar Branch Trail. Nearby attractions include Daniel Boone National Forest, Lilley Cornett Woods, Bad Branch Falls Nature Preserve, Red River Gorge, Natural Bridge State Park, and Buckhorn Lake.

Directions

From I-75, take Exit 38 (SR-192) east to Daniel Boone Parkway to SR-15. Travel SR-15 south to SR-160, turn north and follow for 4 miles. Campground is on the east side of SR-160.
