Phillip's Creek Group Picnic Area is a secluded day-use facility in the George Washington and Jefferson National Forests, located in Wise County, Virginia. The site offers two reservable picnic shelters, each equipped with picnic tables and a large charcoal grill. Vault toilet restrooms are available near shelter #1, with a short walk of about 850 feet to reach them from shelter #2. No potable water or electricity is available on site. The picnic area is surrounded by forest and features open lawn areas suitable for horseshoes, sports, and games. The nearby North Fork of Pound Reservoir is a popular destination for boating and fishing. Several hiking trails are within easy driving distance, including the Pine Mountain Trail, Red Fox Trail, and the Phillip's Creek Trail which is accessible near the picnic area. This is a day-use only facility open from sunrise to sunset, with no overnight camping permitted. The site operates seasonally from late May through late September.

Directions

From the intersection of US 23 and State Route 671 (about 1.25 miles west of Pound, VA), go west on State Route 671 for approximately 5.3 miles. Turn right into the Phillips Creek Recreation Area and continue about 0.4 miles to the picnic area.
