About

Cane Patch Campground is the only developed campground at North Fork of Pound Lake in the Jefferson National Forest's Clinch Ranger District. The campground offers 35 campsites, with 7 sites featuring electric hookups for an additional fee. Each campsite includes a parking spur, picnic table, and fireplace or grill. Conveniently located within walking distance of Phillips Creek Day Use Area, the campground provides access to swimming and recreation opportunities. The facility features large open areas suitable for games and group activities. Flush toilets and potable water from faucets are available on-site. This is a first-come, first-served campground with no advance reservations. Payment can be made on-site with cash or check, or by scanning a QR code using the Recreation.gov mobile app's Scan and Pay feature. Pets are allowed but must be kept on a leash no longer than 6 feet. The campground operates seasonally and closes during winter months.

Directions

From Kingsport, TN: Follow U.S. 23 north toward Pound, VA. Make a left onto State Route 671 West. Follow State Route 671 for 6.5 miles to the campground entrance on the right. From Abingdon, VA: Follow U.S. 58/U.S. 19 West to Hansonville, VA. Turn left onto U.S. Route 58 Alternate and drive to Norton. At Norton, turn north onto U.S. 23 toward Pound, VA. Make a left onto State Route 671 West. Follow State Route 671 for 6.5 miles to the campground entrance on the right.
