About

Cave Springs Recreation Area sits within the picturesque farming community of Olinger Gap in Lee County, Virginia. This Jefferson National Forest campground offers 51 sites surrounded by forested terrain with rolling hills, some with optional electric hookups. Each site comes equipped with a picnic table and fire ring. Amenities include flush toilets and hot showers in bath houses, along with potable water from faucets when the campground is operating seasonally. The recreation area features a small spring-fed pond and serves as a gateway to Stone Mountain Trail and the Stone Mountain Wilderness. A short interpretive trail leads to an overlook with views of the Olinger Gap farming valley below. The area is subject to bear activity, so food storage requirements apply. The campground operates strictly first-come, first-served. Campers must arrive on-site to claim and pay for a site. Payment is by cash or check, or via the Recreation.gov mobile app's Scan and Pay feature. Standard sites are $12/night; electric hookups add $5/night. America the Beautiful and Senior/Access pass discounts apply.
