About

Lime Saddle Group Camps offers two group campsites located near the entrance to Lime Saddle Campground at Lake Oroville State Recreation Area. These tent-only group sites feature six individual sites total with shade structures, multiple picnic tables, trash receptacles, a large barbecue, and a water fountain with spigot. Three sites provide ADA accessibility, and the central restroom and shower building offers flush toilets with ADA accommodations. Situated along the shores of Lake Oroville, California's second-largest reservoir formed by the tallest earth-filled dam in the country, the group camps provide access to 15,500 surface acres of lake and 167 miles of shoreline. The location offers excellent opportunities for boating, fishing for bass, trout, and salmon, swimming, and water sports. The nearby Lime Saddle Trail provides scenic views of the reservoir. Lake Oroville State Recreation Area encompasses approximately 28,450 acres in the Sierra Nevada foothills. The Lime Saddle area is accessed from Highway 70 via Pentz Road, approximately 75 miles north of Sacramento. The area features a Mediterranean climate with warm to hot summers and cool to cold winters. Day use parking areas open at 8 a.m., while campgrounds remain open 24 hours.
