About

Bloomer Boat-in Campgrounds provide a secluded camping experience on Lake Oroville's scenic North Fork arm within the Lake Oroville State Recreation Area. These primitive shoreline sites are accessible only by boat, offering a true backcountry feel while still providing basic amenities. The camping area is divided into four distinct zones: Bloomer Point with 25 individual sites and self-registration pay station, Bloomer Knoll with 6 sites, Bloomer Cove with 5 sites, and a group camping area accommodating up to 75 people. Each campsite is equipped with a picnic table, fire ring with cooking grill, and benefits from natural shade trees along the shoreline. Pit toilets are distributed throughout the camping areas, and trash receptacles are provided for waste disposal. No potable water is available, so campers must bring adequate drinking water supplies. The campgrounds are most accessible when Lake Oroville storage levels are at 850 feet or above; lower water levels may affect site accessibility and boat access. The surrounding Lake Oroville State Recreation Area offers excellent fishing, swimming, and water sports opportunities. The North Fork arm provides a quieter setting compared to the main lake body, making it popular with campers seeking a more peaceful experience.

Directions

Access is by boat only. Launch from Lime Saddle Marina, Bidwell Canyon, or other Lake Oroville boat ramps. Head north into the North Fork arm of the lake to reach the Bloomer camping areas.
