About
Bidwell Canyon Campground sits along Lake Oroville in the Sierra Nevada foothills, offering direct access to one of Northern California's premier boating and fishing destinations. The 75 paved campsites are divided between Big Pine Campground and Gold Flat Campground on either side of the marina. All sites feature full hookups, fire rings, and picnic tables on paved driveways. The adjacent Bidwell Canyon Marina provides boat rentals, fuel, a store and snack bar, and launch ramps. Lake Oroville supports excellent fishing for largemouth and smallmouth bass, chinook salmon, catfish, mackinaw trout, sturgeon, and brown trout. Water skiing, swimming, and sailing are popular activities. The campground connects to the 5.5-mile barrier-free Bidwell Canyon Bike Trail through a foothills environment. The nearby Wyk Island Trail offers a 0.27-mile accessible loop accessed via the historic Bidwell Bar Suspension Bridge. The seasonal Toll House Visitor Center provides interpretive exhibits on the area's gold rush history and dam construction.
