About

Lakeview Campground is a tent camper's paradise with its terraced hillside campsites creatively tucked among an open old-growth stand of ponderosa pines. The campground offers 30 single-unit sites in a woodland environment with gravel roads and gentle hillsides, providing glimpses of beautiful Lake Mary through the abundant pine trees. The campground provides easy access to Upper Lake Mary via the Wood Memorial Trail, a 0.5-mile universal access trail that links the campground with Lake Mary Narrows Picnic Area. The lake is stocked with a variety of fish including trout, bass, and channel catfish, and is popular with power boaters with no motor size limit. Multiple other lakes including Ashurst Lake, Kinnikinick Lake, Marshall Lake, and Lower Lake Mary are within easy driving distance, along with many hiking trails including the Arizona Trail. This location is excellent for wildlife watchers, with many visitors reporting sightings of bald eagles, ospreys, migratory waterfowl, great blue herons, elk, and mule deer. The campground accommodates tents and small motor homes, with some sites able to fit RVs and trailers under 28 feet. There are no utility hookups, but the campground provides drinking water, three accessible vault toilets, picnic tables, fire rings, and cooking grills at each site. Half the sites are reservable, while the other half operate first-come, first-served.
