About

Lakeside Campground occupies the northern shore of Hords Creek Lake in the rolling hills of central Texas, dotted with live oak trees. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers operates this well-developed facility with over 100 campsites spread across two loops. Every site includes water and electric hookups, with select locations offering sewer connections and 50-amp breakers. Six screened shelters with electricity and concrete picnic tables provide an alternative for campers without RVs. The lake is known for quality fishing, with largemouth bass (record catch: 11 lbs 4 oz), white crappie, channel and flathead catfish, and sunfish. Boat ramps and fishing piers are located throughout the campground. Flush toilets, hot-water showers, drinking water, trash collection, and dump stations serve campers. The campground is partially open year-round, with full operations running March 1 through September 30. Gate hours are Sunday through Thursday 9am-8pm, Friday through Saturday and holidays 9am-10pm, with the park closed 10pm-6am. Reservations are available through Recreation.gov.
