About

Colorado Bend State Park encompasses over 5,300 acres of unspoiled wilderness along the Colorado River in the Texas Hill Country, offering a true back-to-nature camping experience. The park features multiple camping options including 15 primitive drive-up sites located 75-100 yards from the river that accommodate self-contained RVs up to 20 feet, 28 walk-in tent sites positioned directly along the riverbank requiring a 50-yard carry from parking, and backcountry hike-in sites in the River Area and Windmill Area for low-impact camping. Three group camps are also available for larger parties. All sites are primitive with no hookups of any kind, and the park does not provide RV sewage disposal facilities. The park is renowned for its natural attractions, including the impressive 70-foot Gorman Falls and extensive trail system that winds through rocky, often unshaded terrain. Potable water is available in camping areas but not at every individual site. The park offers excellent opportunities for hiking, swimming, and fishing in the iconic Colorado River. Composting toilets serve the camping areas, and campers should be prepared to carry adequate water supplies when exploring the trails.
