About

Bonham State Park sits on 261 acres in Fannin County, about 2 miles southeast of the city of Bonham. The centerpiece is a 65-acre lake offering fishing for bass, catfish, and crappie, along with swimming and non-motorized boating. The park was constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps during the Great Depression, and the native stone and timber structures from that era remain part of the park's character. The campground offers three tiers of sites: two full hookup RV sites with water, 30/50-amp electric, and sewer connections; twelve sites with water spigots and electric hookups suitable for tents or RVs; and seven tent-only sites with water and electricity. Site #13 is the only pull-through option. All sites accommodate up to 8 people and include a picnic table, fire ring, upright grill, and lantern holder. A group camp with six sites can accommodate up to 50 people. The park features 4 miles of trails through post oak woodland and tallgrass prairie. Restrooms with showers are located across from park headquarters. A dump station, fishing pier, boat ramp, and picnic pavilion round out the facilities.
