About
Lake Wenatchee State Park occupies prime waterfront on a pristine 5-mile glacier-fed lake at the base of the Cascades, roughly 20 miles north of Leavenworth. The park divides into two distinct camping areas separated by the Wenatchee River. North Campground is the better choice for RVs, with 42 partial utility sites offering water and electric hookups, plus 55 standard sites and 2 ADA-accessible sites. South Campground has 100 standard sites but enforces a 20-foot maximum for vehicles and trailers, making it better suited for tent campers and smaller rigs.
Amenities are solid for a state park: centrally located comfort stations with hot showers and flush toilets, a dump station at North Campground, drinking water throughout, and fire pits in designated areas. The Lake Wenatchee Park Store operates daily during peak season selling firewood, ice, camping supplies, and espresso. The park sits in bear country, so proper food storage is mandatory.
Beyond camping, the park offers excellent lake access with an ADA-accessible boat launch, swimming beaches with mobi-mat pathways, an amphitheater, volleyball courts, and miles of mixed-use trails. Winter camping is available first-come, first-served in the South Park Day-Use lot with heated restrooms and showers.
Directions
